Make Over!
After hours of trying to make my own background, after hours of trying to install it and more hours trying to make it fit- I have discarded it completely and downloaded someone elses! Hurray for them! <3 teehee!
Popcorn Lawls!
I was dragged to see this….
… It looked relatively OK from the trailer, but my darling mother (the lovely person that accompanies me to my picture night- it’s a bit like taking a granny out for a Sunday afternoon run in the car, but since I work Sundays, Wednesday evenings do just fine!)- As I was saying- my darling mother is a sad wee person who has this silly toy boy crush thing going on with Robert Pattinson not to mention her Twitard behaviour. She was the eldest in the cinema of over 200 people I was a close 2nd and everyone else was aging between 13-21. So I have set the scene 99% were female and the poor 2 guys were obviously dragged my their girlfriends (one of whom was my brother and located himself as far away from our mother as possible which was a good idea and the second sat beside me and kept muttering “oh for fucks sake” throughout!)
As for the film itself… it was rather good. It was entertaining! I enjoyed it. Set in 2001 in the wonderful NYC -we all know what happened then! (ooops spoiler!) A rather moody, self-important, rugged- bordering on unclean – Robert Pattinson being the main part and the ever so wonderful Claire from Lost as the love interest. It’s the usual nonsense they have issues, they share them, all is miserable but they are happy in their misery type thing. Well it was a good story and I was entertained and Robert Pattinson dies at the end. Nice wee drama. And Pierce Brosnan was an excellent bastard!! He has always been the goof guy and he just slipped in wonderfully to being the bastard father!
well this weeks verdict will be…… **** 4 stars
2 stars for Claure from Lost (because shes in Lost) 1 star for RPs acting (for the scenes he wasn’t brooding in which could have been a cut and paste from the Twilight films) and 1 star for Brosnan!
Sunnies!
Well it’s such a gorgeous day outside and it justifies wearing sunglasses. I have a plain gold aviator sunglasses, they go with everything so I can’t complain… until I saw these!!
The most GORGEOUS pair of Jimmy Choo sunglasses! How wonderful are these?! I love the colour so bright and happy for summer! I can quiet easily see these in my possession, but at £195 I think I will just keep to my cheap, plain £15 ones!!
Humph- Back to work tomorrow!
Well after a wonderful few days off for Easter I am sadly having to go back to work, just as I was getting used to being lazy!!! I haven’t done half of what I had planned to do catching up on Uni work or catching up on my comic development or even doing that wee bit of spring cleaning… I’ll have to do that on my next break and I’m definitely going to have to paint the bedroom! But first uni stuff then thats it finished until September! Hmmmm i’ll do uni work for friday! maybe. oh to hell with it! I’m heading to bed! I’ll plan it all tomorrow!
Good Friday Baking!
Scones! Which were gorgeous straight out of the oven!
These are my fairy cakes!! They rose too much in the middle so the icing ran off the top and gathered at the bottom but a colourful mess on top covers that up and I think they look quite pretty!!
The easter nests we make every year! YUM!
Re-introducing Popcorn Lawls!!
Every Wednesday I go to the pictures which is commonly known as ‘Picture Night’ and is a blessing from Orange Wednesdays!
This week we went to see How To Train Your Dragon. The trailer looked good, so I was looking forward to it but I was jumping between that and The Bounty Hunter but I couldn’t be bothered traveling further to see it so at my small local independent cinema and How To Train Your Dragon it was! And it was the best decision EVER!
OK I will admit now- I have a thing for vikings- I studied them in my undergrad degree and thought they were awesome and the fact they had Scottish accents also was a pulling point (pick out the Scot!), but it was a genuinely good film. I’m not going to talk about the “inner-morals” the Brits and especially the Scots don’t give an arse about them… but this was sooo entertaining!
I am easily amused when it comes to films. I dont really care about the critics, I’m not giving a damn if they won awards or how well it was directed or if the cast was too small or too big or if they spent too much money on production…its all about how well it entertains, and by god this entertains! Not to mention the wee black dragon is soooo amazingly cute!! teehee!!
I don’t buy DVDs… If I see a film once im quite happy that I have seen it and that is me… but I would certainly buy this one which I’m quite suprised really! The last film I bought was…. actually it was Pride and Prejudice but it was a gift so it doesn’t count!
I’m giving the film……. 5 Stars!!!! *****
